Last night we had another success with the Breeder Alert, 18 days late, a little colt was born at 12:47 a.m. The mare, Flower, did lie down briefly about 12:30. The alarm woke me up and I began to watch the TV monitor. She stood up and humped up in the back. I woke my hubby and we went to the barn.  "I went to bed around 11:00pm & thought Star was unusually still, away from the fence and her friends, that look in her eye, bag hard as a rock & full of milk, actually some dripping. Sure enough, I bolted up out of bed when the pager went off around 12:45. I looked out the upstairs window and she was down but back in an upright position. Then she lay back down flat, so I thought a closer look was needed with the flashlight. I saw hooves! About 10 minutes later we had our first filly. She is a big boned, nice sorrel Tobiano. Very strong and nursed right away. I did have to go in and pull off the sac. I think she may not have been able to escape if we hadn''t been there. Anyhow, as they say, worth every penny! Many thanks. We will store the Breeder Alert® for 2001 with great care. I would recommend your Breeder Alert® to anyone who has ever stayed up all night for a week"! |

"We anxiously awaited the birth of our first foal from our driving stallion, NFC's Candy Dandy, own son of Rhoten's Little Dandy. Our tri-color pinto mare had been wearing the Breeder Alert for 4 weeks, just wanted to make sure she didn't go early and we'd miss it, just in case she needed help. At 1:40am the beeper went off. This time her legs were stretching out and shaking some, this was it! We flew out to the barn, quietly approached the stall. She seemed to be struggling so, which she had not done with her last foal. I saw a hoof tip, nose followed, but there seemed to be a pause after that so I went in and with a gloved hand to check out the position of the second foot. The second foot was somewhat curled, not straight following the nose. I gently flipped the hoof forward so it could slide through the birth canal and pulled my hand out. Thank Heaven! The foot slid right on out and the birth was complete in seconds. Much thanks to Breeder Alert for such a wonderful, dependable system. I'm afraid we might have lost our tri-color Dandy filly and had problems with our beautiful mare if the the monitor had not alerted us to be there. We named the filly, Cherokee's It's Dandy Tyme because thanks to Breeder Alert, we knew it was time or Tyme as we call her!" | |
