Alert®
foaling monitors were developed to alert breeders of an impending birth to assist the foaling
process if necessary. Most deliveries proceed without complications, however
the need may arise to break the sack to keep the foal from suffocating or
having ample time to summon a veterinarian to assist with a major problem.
The best safeguard against losing a foal, and possibly a broodmare, is to
have someone present during foal delivery and Breeder Alert foaling monitors assure you of being present. Your
investment in mare and foal is too great to leave a foaling to chance.
Most expectant mares will lie completely prone before and during the foaling process. Breeder Alert® was designed 26+ years ago to detect and alert you when mare is lying in foaling position. When the mare lies in the foaling position for at least 7 seconds the Transmitter (attached to halter in a leather pouch) sends a signal to a Repeater which in turn sends a signal to a Pocket Pager or to an Automatic telephone dialer. |
