The Breeder Alert Repeater receives the signal from the Transmitter (attached to the mares halter) and relays it to the Pager via radio signal or Auto Dialer. An AC adapter plugs into standard 120V electrical outlets and powers the Repeater.

Distance of transmission from Transmitter on mare is 500+- feet, transmission from Repeater to Pocket Pager is up to 1+ miles. Clear line of sight strengthens signal.

There is a battery terminal block on the back that allows the attachment of an external 12-volt battery to provide for backup in case of electrical outage or if power is not available. A 12V, 1.2 Amp hour battery (fully charged) such as used in an automobile should be used if AC power is not available.

Two antennas are supplied with the Breeder Alert Repeater. One is attached to top of repeater and the other is a CB antenna that attaches to the back of the Repeater. The antenna on top of repeater receives the transmission from the Transmitter and the CB antenna sends the signal to the Remote Pocket Pager.

The Repeater is also capable of handling a number of transmitters should you be foaling more than one mare at a time.
